How we work
At Limerick City Partnership, we prioritise socially excluded communities and address barriers to inclusion through direct engagement, targeted programmes, and collaborative partnerships. We work with local organisations, statutory agencies, and communities to ensure services meet local needs, strengthen communities, and promote equality, opportunity, and social cohesion.
Our Focus
We prioritise working with communities experiencing deprivation, unemployment, and social exclusion. Limerick City faces some of the highest levels of deprivation in the country, with several unemployment blackspots and growing inequality in many areas.
Many of our staff are based in offices in neighbourhoods around the city, ensuring programmes are informed by lived experience and local insight. The people we work with often encounter significant social and economic barriers, including geographic disadvantage and structural inequalities. We work to remove these barriers through targeted services and supports.

Partnership is at the heart of our approach. We collaborate with community organisations, statutory bodies, local leaders, and communities to deliver programmes across an array of areas. Working in partnership is central to ensuring our work is responsive and grounded in lived experience, while strengthening our ability to advocate for the resources needed to address long-term challenges and barriers to inclusion. By working together, we ensure services reach the communities that need them most and help bridge the gap between people and the supports available to them.
"We value and prioritise partnership working between local communities and key stakeholders to identify and respond to local needs and the challenges of social inclusion."
Some of our key programmes are delivered in partnership with community and local development organisations.
