Learning Limerick
Learning Limerick is a partnership initiative that brings together organisations from across Limerick to strengthen and promote a culture of lifelong learning. The initiative recognises learning as a key driver of personal, social and economic development for individuals, families, communities and workplaces.
Our purpose
Learning Limerick works collaboratively with key stakeholders to:
- Promote awareness of the value and importance of lifelong learning for people of all ages and backgrounds
- Influence education and skills policy at local, national and international level
- Place learning at the centre of development planning across all communities, sectors and settings in the Limerick region
How Learning Limerick works
Led by Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board, Limerick City and County Council, and Limerick City Partnership, Learning Limerick is made up of partners from the statutory, local development, business, community and voluntary sectors — all with a shared role in supporting learning across the county.
Learning Limerick is guided by an Inter-Agency Steering Group, chaired by Limerick Chamber Skillnet comprising representatives from a wide range of organisations, including education providers, local development companies, community networks and support agencies.
The work of the Steering Group is supported by a Lifelong Learning Facilitator based in Limerick City Partnership, who coordinates activity, supports collaboration and advances the shared learning agenda across Limerick.
