Mid-West Local Area Employment Service (LAES)
The Mid-West Local Area Employment Service (LAES) supports people who are long-term unemployed and facing barriers to employment to move closer to meaningful, sustainable work. The service is funded by the Department of Social Protection and has been operating since September 2022.
About the LAES
Access to the LAES programme is by referral through the Department of Social Protection. Once referred, participants receive one-to-one support in a friendly and supportive environment. Our LAES team works closely with each individual to identify barriers, explore options and develop realistic pathways towards training, education and meaningful employment.
What we offer
Through LAES, participants receive personalised support tailored to their individual needs, including:
- One-to-one career guidance and action planning
- Information on training and education options
- Support to explore employment opportunities
- Ongoing encouragement and practical assistance
Our experienced LAES team provides a high-quality, person-centred service, working at each individual’s pace.

Limerick City Partnership delivers LAES across five locations in Limerick City.
We also work in partnership with Clare Local Development Company (CLDC), North Tipperary Development Company (NTDC), Ballyhoura Development CLG and West Limerick Resources CLG to provide services across Counties Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary.
Referrals to LAES are made through the Department of Social Protection.
